Luke Stence
Luke Stence’s engagements as a double bassist include performances with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony, the Albany Symphony, and at the Aldeburgh, Bard, Newport Classical and Norfolk music festivals. In the realm of historical performance he has joined groups such as The Four Nations Ensemble, Twelfth Night, and Teatro Nuovo, with appearances at Early Music San Diego, Early Music Seattle, Chamber Music Detroit, and Caramoor. He received degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and Yale University and his playing may be heard on the Bridge, Hyperion, Nonesuch, and Naxos record labels.
